Believe everything you read about this camcorder - the video quality is amazing, 40Gb is more than enough to store a few trip's worth of HD video, the image stabilization works well, etc. etc. I've used it a lot and am very happy with it.

The extras make it worth the money. Commentary The Musical is hilarious! I want to note that although it says DVD-R, I'm pretty sure I have a real DVD, it is silver on the bottom and there is text in the unwritable section of the disc. It says DVD and nothing on the disc or box indicates otherwis
